Royal Oak Business Supports the Mission of Operation Kid Equip

RTT USA, in Royal Oak, is proud to support the local charity, Operation Kid Equip in their effort to raise school supply and monetary donations for at-risk children. The charity was started more than eight years ago by President and CEO, Menachem Kniespeck.

“Menachem started the organization about eight years ago in his living room. He was going to give 100 backpacks away, with supplies, to serve an often underserved need in the community. His friends and colleagues heard about what he was doing and started to pitch in,” said Director of Operations, Josh Tokoph.

Since its inception, the charity has grown from a grassroots effort to now serving up to 300,000 children in poverty in the tri-county area. Operation Kid Equip provides supplies for up to 38,000 identified homeless students across the state.

This marks the third year RTT has supported the charity. Internally, it gives the group a common goal while inspiring teamwork and organization. This year’s initiative held particular significance. Just last month, the charities’ facility suffered severe flooding which lead to structural damages and the loss of thousands of school supply donations. “In light of their recent misfortune, we are more than honored to continue with that support,” said RTT employee – Damon Flemings.

According to Tokoph, there are a number of ways to help. He encourages others to donate supplies, money or simply volunteer at Operation: Kid Equip. The team works directly with student, teachers, families and local businesses like RTT to help children achieve their full potential.
