The community is invited to attend a number of events about healthy living.

The Royal Oak Community Coalition offers many opportunities to the public during the month of April. 

"Breathe Free" Workshop with Dr. Arthur Weaver

When: April 18, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 29 from 7:30-9 p.m.

Description: There are many reasons why someone may want to quit smoking, and that motivation can be dampened if it is not nurtured. Holistic Health and Wellness Expo

When: April 20 from from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Where: Royal Oak High School

Description: This new event offers opportunities to meet local practitioners, try out one of several mini-exercise classes, and attend short informative presentations. Learn new pain management techniques to cope with illness or diseases without using prescription drugs that can sometimes lead to addictions or have unpleasant side effects. Teen Mental Health and Substance Abuse Issues

When: Thursday, April 25, May 2 and May 9 from 6-7:30 p.m.

Where: Royal Oak Public Library

Description: Royal Oak Public Library in collaboration with the Royal Oak Community Coalition will host a free three-part series on coping with teen mental health issues and substance abuse. Sessions include Mental Health and our Children, Science of Brain Addiction, Marijuana and Designer Drugs.

National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day 

When: Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Where: Royal Oak Police Department

Description: Bring expired and unused medications for safe disposal. Keep drugs off the streets and out of our landfills.
