Royal Oak Fire Department Celebrates Century of Service
There will be food, fun, demos and tours from noon to 6 p.m.
To mark its 100th anniversary, the Royal Oak Fire Department is hosting a celebration.
Between noon and 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 11 the public is invited to the former Northwood Fire Station, which is now home to the Royal Oak Historical Society Museum.
Meet retired firefighters and explore a collection of early helmets and uniforms. For kids, there will be firefighting apparatus to explore, as well as a real fire hose to squirt water.

There will also be hot dogs, chips and beverages for sale, picnic tables to sit at and games to play, including a three-legged race, peanut in a spoon, and more.
The museum is located at 1411 W. Webster.
