The Royal Oak Department of Public Services (DPS) began its annual search for potholes last month, and will continue the hunt through April, according to officials. Dedicated crews drive the city seeking out the roadside menaces and filling them in from December through April, a time of year when the city says “potholes are the most prevalent.”
Royal Oak has over 212 miles of paved roads, and even made a YouTube video of crews finding and filling potholes. The city is asking area residents to help. According to a request on Royal Oak’s Facebook page, “DPS cannot be everywhere, the crews appreciate residents and visitors to the city being their eyes and ears. If you see a pothole, report it using the 'Report a Concern' form.” The form is available online.
