Royal Oak Police Blotter Update: Larceny And Property Damage

The Royal Oak Police Department released its weekly update, detailing calls they've responded to in the area. For the week of Jan. 11 to Jan. 18, there were 32 arrests total, and police responded to cases of larceny, malicious destruction of property, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence.

Larceny from Motor Vehicle

1000 block of Cherokee Ave., Jan. 11. Between 2 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., a briefcase was stolen from an unlocked 2015 Jeep. The victim says the case contained an iPad and several gift cards.

200 S. Center St. (Parking Structure). Jan. 12. Between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., someone broke into a 2012 parked in the structure, taking a wallet containing ID and credit cards.

Larceny

3601 W. Thirteen Mile Rd. (Beaumont Hospital). Jan. 12. Between, 6:50 a.m. and 8: 30 a.m., and unknown suspect stole a hospital employee’s wallet from a work breakroom. The wallet contained gift cards, credit cards and a bracelet.

112 S. Main St. (Blaze Pizza). Sometime between 11:40 p.m. on Jan. 13 and midnight on Jan. 14, a Blaze pizza patron’s purse was stolen, then discarded in a trash can after the suspect removed credit cards, cash and ID from it.

150 Coolidge Hwy. (Meijer). On Jan. 14, Between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.:, a wallet was stolen from a woman’s purse at Meijer while she was shopping.

Malicious Destruction of Property

200 S. Center St. (Parking Structure). Sometime between 10 a.m. on Jan. 13 and 6 p.m. on Jan. 14, someone smashed the passenger window of a 2017 Chevrolet parked in the garage.

900 block of E. Fourth St., Sometime between Jan. 13 and Jan 15, an unknown suspect damaged the driver’s door lock mechanism on a 2007 Chevrolet.
