Into The Woods Opens At Stagecrafters Friday

Royal Oak Theater Presents Fairytale Musical

Stagecraft’s Theater in Royal Oak debuts Into the Woods Friday. The musical offers a twisted take on fairy stories, including Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella and Rapunzel. The ribald tale features a randy wolf and a wicked witch who may be “the smartest and fairest of them all,” according to Stagecraft’s. The musical, composed by Steven Sondheim, was made into a 2014 movie starring Meryl Streep and Chris Pine.

Performances of Into the Woods will run January 19-21, 25-28 and February 1-4, 9-11. Performances Thursdays through Saturdays take place at 8 p.m., with matinees at 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $23 (Thursdays) and $26.50 (Fri-Sun). Students with valid ID receive half off pricing the first Thursday performance of any Mainstage show. Active military personnel and their immediate families are eligible for a buy one ticket, get one half price ticket discount on Thursdays.

Tickets are available in advance via Stagecrafters website, or at the door. Stagecrafters performances take place at the Baldwin Theatre, 415 S. Lafayette Ave., Royal Oak.
