Officers then arrested the shooter after a good Samaritan blocked the man from leaving the scene of the accident, police said. Officials also said officers found a fireman.
"A deputy caught up to him (the suspect) as did an MSP trooper," Radzik told reporters. "The deputy ordered him out of the car. He was not complying with the commands, so the Washtenaw County Sheriff's deputy tased him. He is currently in custody."
Nearby city and school facilities, including a middle school, went on a temporary lockdown as the situation unfolded Thursday morning, police said.
Police did not immediately release the shooter's name as charges were pending.
