Milan Chief Jeffry Lewis Takes Post in Muskegon

Milan Police Chief Jeffry Lewis has resigned his position to become Director of Public Safety for the City of Muskegon. In a statement, Mayor Kym Muckler praised the work of the chief.

"Chief Lewis has been incredibly progressive during his time as Police Chief, bringing the department to the forefront of public safety technology through full implementation of the CLEMIS system. I would venture that we are one of the most technologically advanced departments in Michigan, especially for a department of our size," Mickler said.

Benito's Pizza Raising Money for Caulk Family

AnnArbor.com reported that Benito's Pizza is donating 20 percent of its sales Dec. 6 and money from a donations jar to a local family that has lost two loved ones. The benefit is for the Caulk family, who lost 27-year-old Jamie Caulk after a car crash in October, and Lillian Caulk, his 11-month-old niece who died Nov. 19.

Benito's is owned by Saline High School graduate Nick Wallen.
