Gross, White Lead Hornets to Victory at SEC Golf Tournament
Saline was unbeaten in SEC golf action this season.
The Hornets golf team hadn't lost in Southeastern Conference Play all season. The girls weren't about to start at Wednesday's SEC Tournament at Leslie Park Golf Course in Ann Arbor.
The defending state champion Hornets shot a total of 343 to take first place. Second place Ann Arbor Pioneer came in at 366. Also golfing were Bedford (379), Monroe (401), Ann Arbor Huron (421) and Skyline.
Saline senior Karla Gross shot a four-over par 76 and was the tournament medalist. Gross shot back-to-back birdies on holes 15 and 16. She finished with a one-under par 35 of the back nine.

Emily White had a strong day, as well. She shot a 78 to take second, individually. She birdied two of her final four holes. Heather Vogth shot a 92 and Stacy Cruze scored a 97 for the Hornets. Also golfing for Saline were Rachel Hysong and Louisa Antonelli.
