Hornets Edge Dreadnaughts in Water Polo, 8-7

Lucas Allen and Matt Lund scored in the fourth period to lift the Saline Hornets to an 8-7 win over Dexter in Water Polo Wednesday.

Allen scored three goals and had nine assists to pace the Hornets. Michael Bundas scored twice. James Fisher, Louie Remenapp and Lund each tallied once. Fisher also had seven steals.

Will McCullough turned aside 11 of 18 shots in goal.

Dexter held a 2-1 lead after the first period, with Allen scoring for Saline.

Bundas scored twice and Allen once as the Hornets scored three goals and tied the match at 4 after two periods.

Each team tallied twice in the third, with Remenapp and Fisher scoring for Saline.

Lund's market proved to be the winner.

In junior varsity action, Dexter defeated Saline 10-7. Jacob Aulisa scored four goals and had two assists for the Hornets. Isaak Hatopp, Brendan Burgess and Kevin Fisher each scored once. Fisher and Hatopp each had two assists. Nathan Barnett led the Hornets with four steals, while Steven Rudnik and Burgess each came up with two steals.
