Police Report: Man Ticketed for Using Someone Else's Handicap Plate

The following police news reports are from Saline Police Department Records taken between March 27 and April 3. Arrests do not imply conviction.

A 24-year-old Wayne man was ticketed for using another person’s handicap license plate on March 30. At about 7:10 p.m., a officer spotted a car park in a handicap spot in a downtown municipal parking lot.  According to the report, police saw a young man, the driver, and young woman, the passenger, leave the vehicle and proceed to a local establishment. A records check showed the vehicle belonging to a 65-year-old Wayne woman. Police found the couple in a local establishment. The driver told police the vehicle was registered to his grandmother, according to the report. He was ticketed. He also moved the vehicle to another parking spot.

House Damaged After Egging

A Saline River Drive woman told police that her house was egged. The woman said she noticed dried eggs on the side of her home March 29. While cleaning mess, she told police, the acid from the eggs removed paint from her home, causing permanent damage. She told police she doesn’t know exactly when the house was egged, but believes it was recent, according to police records. She also told police she did not know who might have been responsible, according to the report.

No Charges, Minor Injury After Scuffle

A 17-year-old Saline boy was treated for minor injuries after punching out the pickup truck window of a friend.

Police were called to the 700 block of Ironwood Drive March 31 after a report of an assault. One 17-year-old boy punched another 17-year-old boy several times for disrespecting his own grandfather, according to the report. Angry, the victim punched out the passenger side window out of his friend’s truck.  In the process, he lacerated his wrist. He was transported to Saline St. Joseph’s Hospital for stitches.

The teens said they did not wish to prosecute.

Bicycle Found at Quantum Signal

A blue Pacific Phoenix bicycle found in the parking lot at Quantum Signal, 200 N. Ann Arbor St., was turned over to police. An employee at Quantum Signal said the bicycle did not belong to anyone at the firm, according to the report. The bike will be stored in the Department Public of Works shed.
