Saline Digs for a Cure and the Victory at Huron
The Saline and Huron volleyball teams wore pink and raised funds to support the effort to find a cure for breast cancer.

The third annual Dig For A Cure volleyball match between the Saline and Huron took place in Ann Arbor Thursday night.
The varsity and junior varsity teams wore pink t-shirts instead of the normal jerseys in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Parents from both teams made baskets that were raffled off to raise funds for the cause. Fans in the stands wore pink t-shirts and held pink balloons.
"It's great to be part of this and to be able to raise money for a charity that affects so many people. Everybody knows somebody who's been effected by (breast cancer)," said Saline co-captain Mackenzie Shand. "It's a game that we all love participating in. It's just a great night."

Saline coach Lisa Shea said that it's become a night that the girls mark on their calendar.
"Everyone loves the pink t-shirts and the balloons. But this is really about community service and helping people out. We've got a great relationship with Huron. It's great to partner with them on this event," said Shea. "It's great for the girls on both teams to participate in causes like these. So in that light, the match was almost secondary."
