Saline Long Distance Dominance Isn't Just a High School Thing

The Saline Heritage XC Runners helped Saline teams win boys and girls K-6 races at the Legends meet last week.

The Saline XC Runners, a team of 44 fourth and fifth graders organized through a program, ran a 1,600-meter race at the Legends meet held at Huron Meadows Metropark Saturday.

The team ran with sixth graders from Saline Middle School and proved that Saline's long distance dominance isn't just a high school phenomenon. The Saline teams won the boys' and girls' K-6 races.

Top runners included Emma Cummings (6:23), Devin Reilly (7:02), Katie Miller (7:07) and Kristina Kowalchik (7:07). Will Downey (6:15), Jacob Dykman (6:29) and Win Walker (6:34) were fastest on the boys' team.
