Saline School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Saline is September 5. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Saline Area School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/30: Professional Development Day for Teachers (No School for Students)
• 8/31: Professional Development Day for Teachers (No School for Students)

September

• 9/5: First Day of School

October

• 10/4: Early Release Day (Professional Development for Staff)
• 10/12: High School Evening Conferences
• 10/20: No School for Students and Staff (Mid-Fall Break)

November

• 11/1: Early Release Day (Professional Development for Staff)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School for Students and Staff (Thanksgiving Break)
• 11/29: K-8 Students Half Day (Afternoon and Evening Conferences), High School Exams
• 11/30: Half Day for Students (Afternoon and Evening Conferences for K-8, Records Day for High School Teachers)

December

• 12/1: No School for Students (Records Day)
• 12/23: No School for Students and Staff (Winter Break Begins)

January

• 1/8: School Resumes
• 1/15: No School for Students and Staff (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)
• 1/17: Early Release Day (Professional Development for Staff)
• 1/25: High School Evening Conferences

February
