Lau Leads Hornets to 10-4 Victory
Despite being shorthanded, the Hornets posted a big victory in their final game before the break.
Coach Mary Chatigny had two requests of her team when the varisty girls water polo team played Seaholm at Thursday night.
"I stressed that we would press in the lanes on defense and that we would counter attack," said Chatigny. "As a coach, when you give your team two things to do and they follow through, it's really nice to see."
Saline won 10-4 to improve to 8-3 as they begin spring break.

Lau scored three goals on breakaways and could have scored more were it not for the goaltending of Kellie Howe.
In Saline's net, Brynn Rohloff won her first varsity game. She was playing for Emily Farsakian, who is off at a water polo development camp.
"Brynn did a phenomenal job. She blocked two five-meter shots and made several big saves tonight," Chatigny said.
Rohloff held Seaholm two two goals until they broke through for two goals in the final 90 seconds.
Rohloff also played and won the junior varsity contest.
Ellie Brigger and Abbey Wrobleski each scored two goals for Saline. Erika Glatz and Alex Wagner each added a goal.
Saline led 2-0 after one period after goals by Brigger and Wagner. Lau scored her first of the night on a breakaway midway through the second period. Wrobleski scored her first of the night late in the period and the Hornets led 4-0 at halftime.
Seaholm got on the board early in the third period, but Saline exploded for five straight goals to put any doubts to rest. Brigger began the onslaught. Lau scored three straight goals to make it 8-1. Early in the fourth Wrobelski scored her her second goal of the night to make it 9-1. Glatz finished the scoring for the Hornets.
Chatigny said that Glatz, Emily McCullough and Ariana Brown played well off the bench.
"We had only three girls on the bench, and two of them have less than a year's experience playing the sport. But they got in there and they did an amazing job," Chatigny said.
