Saline Students Showcase Artistic Skills, Raise Money For Food Gatherers

The second annual Empty Bowls benefit will be held at Saline High School Feb. 2.

students will showcase skills in visual, musical and culinary arts while helping feed the hungry in Washtenaw County at an upcoming benefit at l.

The second annual Empty Bowls benefit for Food Gatherers of Washtenaw County takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Feb. 2 in the Saline High School Commons Area. To purchase tickets, visit the Payschools webpage. Tickets are $12 per person and $40 for a family.

The culinary arts students are preparing soups, bread, desserts and beverages for the benefit.

Visual arts students and teachers from throughout the district have created ceremic bowls for the event. Everyone who attends the benefit can take a bowl home with them. The empty bowl is meant to serve as a reminder of all the people who go hungry.

Music students will provide entertainment.
