MCDR Updates Closure Plan for 24 Mile and Van Dyke
Macomb County Roads Department updates closure plan for busy intersection this weekend.

In a statement issued Thursday, Macomb County Department of Roads officials updated the closure of the intersection at 24 Mile Road and Van Dyke.
According to the release, the intersection will be closed beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30 and will reopen at 6 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2.
Monday morning commuters, however, shouldn’t expect smooth sailing through the area.
MCDR says the intersection at 24 Mile Road and Van Dyke will be “partially” open to thru traffic at that time, as crews continue work on the ongoing water-main installation project.
The weekend closure plan will happen in two stages, according to MCDR.
The first stage of the project calls for the closure of east-and-westbound lanes of 24 Mile Road at Van Dyke Avenue.
Van Dyke will be brought down to one lane, alternating north-and-southbound traffic at the easterly end of the intersection.
Motorists can expect to see workers controlling the flow of traffic during this stretch.
This stage should continue through 5 p.m. Oct. 31.
Stage two consists of a shift in Van Dyke Avenue traffic to the westerly end of the intersection.
This stage of the project is expected to last through mid-day Sunday, Nov.1.
MCR expects the intersection to be partially open, with restricted turns, by rush hour Monday, Nov. 2.
