Shelby Township Announces Fishing Derby Winners
Dozens of children cast a line into Heritage Garden Lake recently for the annual Shelby Township Fishing Derby.
Some of the youngest anglers in the community cast a line June 8 for the annual Shelby Township Parks and Recreation fishing derby.
According to a release from the Parks and Recreation Department, nearly 140 anglers 15-years-old and younger took part in the event sponsored by Kirk, Huth, Lange & Badalamenti, PLC and The Detroit Area Steelheaders. The McDonald’s on 23 Mile also provided goodie bags for each participant.
The winners in each category were:
Biggest Fish – Ages 4 and Under
1) Lacey Combs Age 4 Shelby Township 14’’
2) Nolan Paradise Age 2 Shelby Township 13 ¾”
3) Camden Gendreau Age 3 Shelby Township 13 ½”
Biggest Fish – Ages 5-7
1) Tiffany Piro Age 6 Washington Township 15 ½”
2) Maya McMillan Age 5 Washington Township 14”
3) Matthew Podar Age 7 Shelby Township 12 ½”
3) Joey Elliott Age 7 Chesterfield Township 12 ½”
3) Owen Melnyczenko Age 5 Shelby Township 12 ½”
Biggest Fish – Ages 8-10
1) Jared Martin Age 9 Shelby Township 17 ½”
2) Olivia Combs Age 10 Shelby Township 15 ½”
3) Anna Hill Age 9 Shelby Township 14 ¾”
