Halloween Candy Buy Back Benefits Soldiers

A St. Clair Shores dentist will pay $1 per pound for your leftover Halloween candy stash.

ST. CLAIR SHORES, MI — A Halloween candy buy back event will help bring a smile to the faces of American soldiers around the world. St. Clair Shores Dentist P. Steven Wainess is hosting the seventh annual event and will use the candy as part of care packages sent to troops via “Operation Gratitude.”

Last year, Wainess collected 1,103 pounds of candy. “That's a lot of candy,” he said, “but we are hoping to beat that amount this year.”

Wainess is buying back Halloween candy for $1 per pound. The event will be held on Nov. 5 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 30140 Harper Avenue, suite 100. More information can be found at www.halloweencandybuyback.com.
