Man Armed With Ice Pick Shot, Killed By Police In Metro Detroit: Cops
No officers were injured in the shooting and there is no further threat to the community, according to police.
WARREN, MI — Officers fatally shot a man after he took out an ice pick Monday night in Warren, according to police.
The shooting happened at 10:15 p.m. Monday in the area of Railroad Street and 11 Mile Road in Warren, according to police.
A woman called police and told officials that a man in the area had a knife, according to police.

When officers arrived at the scene, the woman told them the man had made threats to harm officers with the weapon, according to police.
Officers began searching the area north of Railroad Street for the man and eventually found him in the area of George Merrelli Drive and Lorna Avenue, according to police.

That's when the man pulled out an ice pick, and officers subsequently shot him, according to police.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died, according to police.
No officers were injured in the shooting and there is no further threat to the community, according to police.
No other details were released.
Police were still investigating the shooting.
