Police Blotter: Domestic Battery, Thefts
St. Clair Shores police investigate three unrelated cases of domestic battery and two thefts in which car windows were smashed.

St. Clair Shores police responded to three unrelated domestic battery cases this week.Â
In the first case, a 36-year-old resident was arrested April 7 at about 8:50 p.m. after his 22-year-old girlfriend called 911. The woman told officers the couple was arguing when he became angry and grabbed onto the collar of her shirt, throwing her on the floor, then following her to another room, choking her with his hands and taking away her cell phone. The man is charged with non-aggravated assault.Â
In the second case, officers arrested a 56-year-old resident on charges of non-aggravated assault and resisting arrest. Officers were called by the man's wife, who said the pair began arguing over a bar tab at a bar and the fight continued at home, becoming physical. The man is accused of kicking the woman in the eye, causing her to fall on the floor and hit her head on the kitchen counter during the fall. The man refused to open the door for officers and refused to stand up to be arrested, according to reports. Police said he struggled with officers during the arrest, knocking them to the floor but they were able to handcuff him. Police said he was taken to an area hospital after complaining of pain in his arm, which medical officials said was caused by a dislocation. He was treated and released to police custody.Â
