Fort Street Road Work to Continue Through Winter
Wayne County road work is expected to stop everywhere during winter -- except Fort Street.

Those wishing for a Christmas void of road construction on Fort Street won't be getting their Christmas wish this year.
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced Monday that the M-85 (Fort Street) reconstruction project will continue throughout winter with utility replacement between Pennsylvania and Sibley roads, according to a MDOT release.
Work will continue thtoughout the winter in order to finish the project as quickly as possible, according to the same release.

"Infrastructure improvements are necessary for enhanced quality of life for our residents and assist in providing a stable economic base for growth and job retention," said MDOT Metro Region Engineer Tony Kratofil in the release.
Almost all other road work in Wayne County is either complete or on hold until spring.
