New Trenton Business Has Gone to the Dogs
A new business in Downtown Trenton gives customers a unique chance to bond with man's best friend.
Colleen Medere, 48, of Woodhaven began grooming her dogs herself as a way to save money and it, eventually, turned into a hobby.
After spending years grooming her two dogs, a Great Dane mix and a Boxer mix, Medere decided to turn her hobby into Trenton's first self-wash and full-service pet grooming salon when she purchased a vacant 100-year-old house in Downtown Trenton and opened Bubble Puppy on Feb. 13.
"I decided to go all in," Medere said.

Bubble Puppy, 2505 W. Jefferson Ave., allows pet owners to wash their dogs using a large grooming station. The grooming station has the capability to spray water, set to just the right temperature, shampoo and conditioner.
There's also a high-powered blower and towels to finish the job.

Medere said the experience brings dogs and owners closer together and allows owners to avoid the mess of washing their pets at home.
"It's a money saver," Medere said. "It's great bonding time and it's a lot of fun."
While dogs are Medere's primary clients, she said all pets are welcome including non-traditional pets like Guinea pigs and rats.
Bubble Puppy also has two professional groomers available by appointment and an array of pet styling products including nail polish, hair gel and hair dye.
Bubble Puppy is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
