Trenton & Downriver Soroptimists Host Fifth Mommy & Me Tea Party
A Day Spent in Fairyland
One hundred twenty ladies of all ages gathered in Fairyland at the Grecian Center in Southgate on May 4, 2024. The Trenton and Downriver Area Soroptimists hosted their fifth “Mommy and Me Tea Party” to celebrate Mother’s Day and to introduce women and girls to Soroptimist. Some attendees brought in new summer toys that will be donated to the Downriver Foster Closet.
The little sweethearts arrived attired in array of fancy dresses. Each table in the spacious room was adorned in the height of proper teatime, complete with floral arrangements, fancy teapots, and real ceramic teacups and saucers. A pasta and salad bar lunch, which included tea and lemonade, was provided. Every child could decorate her own cupcake as dessert.
Stations were set up to provide fun activities for the girls: a unicorn ring toss game, cotton candy machine, selfie frame and Jim Jacek Photos-to-Go photography opportunities, and Pearl the Bubble Fairy, as well as the cupcake decoration table.
