Students at Trenton High School put on a magnificent performance of "Back to the 80's" Friday night and had the audience dancing in their seats.
With a totally tubular song list and actors that would make the "Glee" kids feel like freshman on the first day of school, the students at Trenton High School performed "Back to the 80s...The Totally Awesome Musical" magnificently.
The musical by Neil Gooding was a smashing success. Audience members were, literally, singing along and dancing in their seats. Adults and kids alike were laughing out loud at a musical set in a time when "LOL" was just a random combination of letters.
The actors and actresses had voices that soared over the hundreds that sat anxious in their seats, the talented dancers were remarkable and the live band rocked the house all night

The cast sang the songs as if they had broken into mom and dad's closet years ago, dusted off an old shoebox of cassettes and dropped one into a roaring boombox resting on a friends shoulder. These kids know the 80s.
Each character was rich and interesting. The musical even had the one 80s movie ingredient found in everything from "Risky Business" to "Revenge of the Nerds," nerd redemtion.
