Blackthorn Concert

Troy Recreation Department and Friends of the Troy Seniors is sponsoring a Blackthorn Concert at the Troy Community Center (Room 304-305) on Thursday, September 19 from 7-8:30pm.  Enjoy traditional songs of emigration, sea shanties, lively jigs and reels, and ancient airs combined with some of Ireland’s best contemporary songs.  Band members play multiple instruments, including wooden flute, accordion, tin whistle, five string banjo, and cittern, bones, complimenting the lead vocals of Belfast native Richard McMullan and the Band’s four part harmony.  The fee is $6 per person in advance or $7 at the door and includes free munchies with pop available for purchase.  The Community Center is located at 3179 Livernois, Troy, MI  48083.  For additional information, contact the Troy Recreation Department at 248.524.3484.
