Confronted, Alleged Thief Drops His Cellphone While Fleeing TJ Maxx

Troy police say the accused thief ran out of TJ Maxx upon being confronted by Loss Prevention.

TROY, MI — A thief is on the run - literally - after fleeing TJ Maxx on foot, according to a police report.

Troy police say that on Jan. 8 at 6:44 p.m., an unidentified white man roughly 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds went to TJ Maxx at 350 John R Rd.

He reportedly tried stealing $178.92 of merchandise before being stopped by Loss Prevention. The suspect then fled the store on foot, dropping the stolen items along with some of his personal items including his cell phone. He was last seen running through the store parking lot.
