DVDs Stolen from Car While in for Repairs
The following information about police incidents is taken directly from the most recent Troy Police Department media releases.

Larcenies from autos
2000 block of Hempstead Street, Sept. 24-25, 9:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.: Resident reported her vehicle was parked in the driveway. When she returned she discovered the rear driver’s side window smashed and a briefcase containing medical equipment was missing.
1000 block of Sparrow Court, Sept. 24-25, 9 p.m. to 8:10 a.m.: Complainant reported she parked her vehicle in the driveway overnight. When she returned to the vehicle she discovered her rear passenger window smashed. Complainant stated her tote bag containing $350 cash, an iPad 2, gift cards and Visa card were missing.
Red Roof Inn, 2350 Rochester Ct., Sept. 16-17, 1 a.m. to 7 a.m.: Complainant reported he parked his vehicle in the lot and when he returned he found his camcorder, laptop and camera were stolen from the vehicle.

Fisher Auto Body, 1759 Maplelawn, Sept. 16-26, 12 noon: Complainant advised she dropped off her van for repair. Inside the van were six boxes of 75 DVDs in each box. One of the sliding doors on the van was not locked. When complainant returned to pick up the van all 6 boxes were missing.
Credit, check, identity theft, other fraud
1000 block of Hartland, Sept. 23, 9 a.m.: Resident advised she noticed an unauthorized charge on her debit card to Sears in the amount of $500.30. Resident stated she did not make the purchase.

2000 block of Lovington, Sept. 24, 12 noon to 4:20 p.m.: Resident advised he was contact via email from his bank that his card had been used in Detroit at ATMs. Resident stated no one had permission to access his account.
Drugs/narcotics
John R Road and East Maple, Sept. 26, 4:14 p.m.: Troy officers stopped a vehicle with an expired plate. While speaking with the driver, officers could detect the odor of marijuana. The driver admitted to having marijuana in the center console. The marijuana was confiscated and the driver, a 32-year-old from Madison Heights was arrested for possession of marijuana.
2000 block of Sparta, Sept. 26, 9:49 p.m.: Troy officers were dispatched to a complainant of a suspicious vehicle in front of the callers’ home. Officers located the vehicle which was occupied. Officers spoke to the driver who stated he was talking on the phone. Officers suspecting drug use, requested to search the vehicle. The driver consented and officers found medical use marijuana and several prescription narcotics in pill bottles without labels. The driver advised he had purchased the pills from a woman. The driver, a 28-year-old from Troy was arrested for possession of prescription narcotics.
Driving under influence of alcohol/drugs
West Maple Road and Custer, Sept. 26, 2:31 a.m.: Troy officers stopped a vehicle after observing it drift across lane markers. The driver was observed with bloodshot glassy eyes and an odor of intoxicants coming from inside the vehicle. The driver, a 23-year-old from Troy failed field sobrieties and was arrested for operating while intoxicated. A blood test was conducted with result pending.
Retail fraud
Macy’s, 2750 W. Big Beaver Rd., Sept. 25, 1:25 p.m.: Loss prevention reported the suspect was observed selecting merchandise and placing it in a shopping bag. The suspect then left the store failing to pay for the concealed merchandise. Loss prevention stopped the suspect and recovered the merchandise valued at $230.86. The suspect, a 19-year-old from Troy was arrested for third-degree retail fraud.
Macy’s, 500 W. 14 Mile Rd., Sept. 26, 5:41 p.m.: Loss prevention advised two suspects were observed selecting merchandise and concealing it in their purses. The suspects exited the store without paying for the concealed merchandise. Loss prevention stopped the suspects and recovered the merchandise totaling $864.98. The suspects, a 17-year-old from Ferndale and a 19-year-old from Madison Heights were arrested for second-degree retail fraud.
Miscellaneous
5000 block of Ridge Court, Sept. 25, 7:22 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a complainant of solicitors in the area. Officers made contact with the suspect who had not obtained a permit with the city to solicit. The suspect, a 25-year-old from Clarkston was issued a citation for soliciting without a permit.
