Ice Cream Social a Cool Hit at Stage Nature Center

The Troy Nature Society (TNS) recently held an Ice Cream Social Open House at the .

More than 245 people attended the society’s first Ice Cream Social Open House event which included guide trail walks, crafts and activities along with a children’s story time. 

Representatives from L.E.E.P. – the Law Enforcement Education Program – provided parents of 52 children with a free CD containing their child’s fingerprints, photograph and physical description that can be used by police and the Amber Alert system. 

The highlight of the gathering was the delicious ice cream donated by Ray’s Ice Cream of Royal Oak. 

“The Troy Nature Society wanted to do something special for our many members, friends and supporters, including inviting those who haven’t been to the Nature Center to see this unique 100-acre nature preserve right here in our community," TNS Board Member Ann Neuser said. "We very much appreciate the donations from local businesses that made this free event possible.”

The Troy Nature Society is a nonprofit organization supporting the educational nature and science programs of the Lloyd A. Stage Nature Center.
