Job Hunting: City Of Troy Looking For (Paid) Interns, Shuttle Driver

All of the jobs are part-time and pay ranges from $10-$15 per hour.

TROY, MI — If you’re in the market for a job, the city of Troy is looking for for a shuttle driver as well as two paid internships in the city manager’s office and the department of public works. All of the jobs are part-time and pay ranges from $10-$15 per hour.

The Big Beaver Trolley is the latest project realized for the Move Across Troy initiative, connecting the amenities on Big Beaver Road for Troy residents and visitors. The shuttle driver will help make those connections by providing courtesy transportation, welcoming riders, effectively communicating stops and safety information, and answering questions in a friendly manner.

Of the three positions, the shuttle driver is highest paying at $12-$15, according to Troy officials. The position is slotted for 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

As for the internships, a management assistant will work up to 35 hours per week and earn $10-$12 per hour. The assistant with city leadership to develop and recommend alternative solutions to community problems, plan and develop new programs to meet future needs of the city and prepare the annual budget, among other duties.

The DPW assistant will conduct a variety of marketing and communications activities, such developing literature to be utilized in the production of newsletters, pamphlets, flyers, brochures, and social media posts. The position will work up to 20 hours per week and also earn $10-$12 per hour.
