L. Brooks Patterson Funeral Is Thursday In Troy
The late Oakland County Executive will be buried with full military honors.

TROY, MI — L. Brooks Patterson, the former Oakland County Executive, will be buried Thursday in Troy. There will be a public funeral, but the burial will be private.
Patterson died on Saturday, Aug. 3, months after announce in March that he was battling stage-4 pancreatic cancer. He added he would not be running again for the county executive position.
Patterson's role as county executive was taken over by Gerald D. Poisson, Patterson's chief deputy, who swore in the same day Patterson died.

Patterson's funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. at Woodside Bible Church's Troy Campus at 6600 Rochester Rd. between Square Lake Road and South Boulevard.

The public funeral, handled by Coats Funeral Home in Clarkston, will be followed by a burial with full military honors.
The Oakland County International Airport honored Patterson on Sunday, Aug. 11 with a missing man formation flyover during the air show at the OCIA Open House & Air Show.
