An accidental shooting and an overdose leading to the use of Narcan were reported in Oakland County.

Accidental Shooting/Detective Call-Out in Orion Township
Police said a 23-year-old Lexington, Michigan, man drove himself to the hospital Sunday afternoon after accidentally shooting himself in the leg.

Deputies and the Orion Township Fire Department were dispatched to the 1300 block of Silverbell Road for a shooting which had just occurred. The caller stated his son-in-law was shot in the leg by an unknown person while standing in the driveway of the residence. The caller stated a black Dodge Durango was seen in the area when the shooting occurred.
The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries by the Orion Township Fire Department. Deputies on scene observed the victim’s vehicle in the driveway with the door open. There was a spent shell casing lying on the front passenger floor as well as two magazines with .25 caliber bullets. The victim denied shooting himself in the leg. The victim refused transport to the hospital by Orion Township Fire Department and drove himself to McLaren-Oakland Hospital. A Detective was called-in and went to the hospital to interview the victim. The victim admitted he had shot himself and the weapon was inside the residence.

Assist Medical/Drug Overdose/Narcan Administered in Pontiac
A 28-year-old Pontiac man was given Narcan after he reportedly overdosed, police said.
Deputies and the Waterford Regional Fire Department responded to the 20 block of W. Rutgers Avenue for a report of a possible drug overdose. The caller reported the victim was unconscious and was blocking the bathroom door. A syringe could be seen near the victim. Upon arrival, deputies assessed the victim and administered Naloxone to him. The complainant advised deputies the victim was a known drug user. Paramedics arrived on the scene and continued to monitor the victim’s vital signs.
The victim regained consciousness and began breathing normally. Paramedics from Star EMS transported the victim to McLaren-Oakland Hospital for further evaluation.
