Man arrested for drinking, driving with concealed gun in car

Troy Police officers stopped a vehicle Friday night at Maple and Stephenson after the vehicle entered the intersection on a red light. Officers immediately smelled intoxicants upon approaching the vehicle, according to the report.

The driver, a 44-year-old Eastpointe man, said he had a concealed weapon permit and had a handgun in the car. Officers noticed his speech was slurred and his eyes were bloodshot and glassy.

The man failed sobriety tests and was arrested for operating while intoxicated, open intoxicants in a motor vehicle, and possession of a firearm while intoxicated. His preliminary breath test results were .08.

Woman steals with two kids in tow

A woman entered Salvatore Ferragamo last Monday afternoon accompanied by two young children. The woman asked to see a pair of men's shoes in a different size, and while the sales associate went into the back room to find them, the woman told the other sales associate she wanted a different size, causing both sales associates to leave the floor.

While the sales associates were in the back room, the woman left without making a purchase. According to a police report, it was later discovered that the woman had stolen five pairs of sunglasses worth $1,627.10. She is described as approximately 35-40 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 130 pounds.

Road rage incident leads to concealed weapon citation

Troy police responded Thursday afternoon to reports of a traffic altercation and possible accident involving two vehicles at Stephenson and 14 Mile roads. 

A 49-year-old Flint man, who had two outstanding Friend of the Court warrants for his arrest, was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon after a handgun that was not registered to him was found in his vehicle. According to the police report, the man told officers he carried the weapon for protection but does not have a concealed weapon permit, since he is a convicted felon.

Another person involved in the incident who does have a concealed pistol license was cited for possession of a firearm with a blood alcohol content between .02 and .07 percent.

Woman reports seeing man masturbating outside her home

Troy officers responded to the 1000 block of Eldridge early Friday morning after a woman reported looking out her window and seeing a man standing on the sidewalk with his shorts down fondling himself, according to the police report.

Officers searched the area but were not able to locate the man. He is described as approximately 50 years old, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 180 pounds. He was clean shaven with graying hair and was wearing a white shirt, white shorts and a tan windbreaker.
