Recent Troy High Grad Coordinates 'Bands that JAM 4 Africa' Event
Morgan Fisher, 18, is producing the Dec. 16 event, which helps raise money to feed and educate children in Africa.
At just 18 years old, recent graduate Morgan Fisher is in the midst of coordinating and producing the "Bands That JAM 4 Africa" benefit concert. The concert will be held starting at 6 p.m. on Dec. 16 at Clutch Cargo in Pontiac.
"JAM 4 Africa" will raise money to feed and educate children in Africa, according to a recent press release. It is the sixth concert Fisher has produced in four years, though she has been raising money to help feed African children since she was 12 years old.
Indie pop group Heyhihello is headlining the event and will be playing their new song "Nothing At All," which is scheduled to be released on iTunes and Amazon on Dec. 21, according to the press release. Also scheduled to perform are Claslan, A Minor Bird, Rival Summers, Nicole Amine and dub step dj Walter Melon.

"We have fantastic fans in Michigan," Heyhihello band leader Jakub Andrew said. "We wanted to play at the BTJ4A benefit because we feel music is for sharing with the world, bringing us together and uniting people of different cultures. Together we can make a difference."
"The concerts mean so much more to me now, since returning from South Africa," said Fisher, who visited South Africa for six weeks last summer. "Iʼve seen the children myself, and Iʼve seen firsthand the effects of what we can do and how much our efforts help. It only takes $50 to feed and educate an African child for an entire year."
