Neighbor heard gunshot and watched a Sandhill Crane fall out of the sky.

TROY, MI — Two teens were arrested on Oct. 31 for allegedly shooting a federally protected Sandhill Crane in Oakland County, according to an Oakland County Sheriff’s Office press release.
A woman in the 2600 block of Noble Rd. called deputies after reportedly seeing four Sandhill Cranes (gray birds with a red forehead and stick thin legs) flying above her property. She then heard a gunshot and watched as a crane fell crashing to the ground.
Responding deputies conducted an area check and located the bird brigade: an 18-year-old Oxford Township male and 19-year-old Lapeer County man. Deputies discovered the teens with the dead Sandhill Crane, 18 dead ducks, marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia.
