Thousands Lose Power in Troy on Wednesday Night
Power is expected to return for more customers between 9 and 11 p.m.

Over 6,000 DTE Energy customers in Troy were left in the dark on Wednesday night amid severe thunderstorms, beginning about 6:35 p.m.
According to the DTE Energy Outage Map online, the most severe outages stretched from just north of Big Beaver Road up to Long Lake Road. Over 3,000 customers in-between Northfield Parkway and Adams Road were without power, with an estimated restoration time between 9:30 and 11:30 p.m.Â
Another large swath of outages are located between Livernois Road and John R Road. Those customers, over 2,000 in total, are expected to return to power between 9 and 11 p.m.Â
A group of about 800 customers northwest of White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery, south of Interstate-75, were left in the dark due to "trouble with underground equipment." Their estimated restoration time was listed as "not available."
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning in Oakland County on Wednesday, effective until 12 midnight.
