Police Say Man Fired a Gun at Troy Cigar Store

Jauwan Laverne Tims, 20, of Detroit, was arrested and charged in February incident at Mist Hookah & Cigar.

A Detroit man currently sits in Oakland County Jail, facing a maximum of 16 years in prison and fines totaling $8,000 following a February incident at Mist Hookah & Cigar in Troy.

Jauwan Laverne Tims, 20, of Detroit, was charged with four counts of felonious assault with a deadly weapon and had bond set at $250,000 cash or surety on Saturday.

Tims had been arrested in Detroit with intelligence by Troy Police. His next court appearance is March 25 before Judge William E. Bolle of the 52-4 District Court.

According to police, Tims was kicked out of the store in the early morning hours of Feb. 16 with three other men and pointed a handgun at two employees in the parking lot. He then went inside of a car and fired once into the air before driving off.
