Troy Police Arrest Woman Carrying Concealed Weapon

Troy Police officers arrested a woman after a traffic stop for carrying a concealed weapon.

TROY, MI — A 32-year-old Redford Township woman was arrested by Troy Police Tuesday on a concealed weapon and other charges. Officers stopped her 2016 Cadillac Escalade on eastbound W. Big Beaver at about 11:30 a.m. on a traffic violation.

Troy Police Officers soon discovered that was driving on a suspended license. In talking to her, the Redford Township woman told officers she had a handgun in her purse. Police discovered that her concealed weapons permit was expired.

Officers then arrested her without incident. She was charged with Driving While License Suspended – 2nd or Subsequent Offense and Carrying a Concealed Weapons Permit Violation.

A gun was involved in separate incident in Troy Tuesday afternoon. Police reports said a woman was driving northbound on I-75 when a driver in a Chevrolet Cruze pulled in front of her vehicle and was flipping her off for an unknown reason.

Reports said she attempted to change lanes several times but the man, who is described as a white male 21-23-years-old, would not allow her. She told officers that she exited the freeway at Rochester Road and stopped in rush-hour traffic.

The suspect slowed his vehicle down in the right through-lane and had his passenger window rolled down and yelled at her. Reports said she looked over toward him and observed he was pointing a silver / gray handgun at her and then drove away, continuing northbound on Interstate 75.

Police said the incident amounts to felonious assault. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Troy Police at (248) 524-3443.
