Troy Police Bust Lapeer Woman For Heroin Possession

A search of her vehicle revealed a package that contained what officers believed to be heroin.

TROY, MI – A 32-year-old Lapeer woman was arrested by Troy Police officers recently for heroin possession after a traffic stop on northbound I-75 west of Crooks Road. According to police reports, the woman was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt erratically shortly before 3 a.m. on March 18 when they made the stop.

Officers asked the woman to take several sobriety tests and noted in reports that she complied but “performed poorly.” A subsequent search of her vehicle revealed a package that contained what officers believed to be heroin. Officers also found a glass crack pipe between the front passenger seat and the center console. Cotton, which can be used as a filtering device for heroin use, was discovered in the glove box.

Troy officers then arrested the woman and charged her with possession of heroin and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. The 32-year-old was also charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of narcotics, pending laboratory results of a blood test that was administed at the Troy Police Department.
