Police Surround Juveniles Seen Walking with Rifle on Big Beaver
A concerned citizen called Troy Police Friday after seeing two young subjects walking down the road with a rifle, which was later determined to be a pellet gun.

officers were called to a home near Big Beaver and Dequindre Friday afternoon after receiving reports that two subjects, one of whom appeared to be carrying a rifle, were walking down Big Beaver Road.
Troy officers observed the two subjects enter a home on Big Beaver before setting up a security perimeter. Officers then made contact with the teens inside the home and discovered the homeowner's juvenile son had been at a friend's house earlier before taking the friend's "fake sniper" pellet gun from the home, according to a Troy Police Department media release.
The two boys then walked back with the rifle to the home on Big Beaver, where they shot cans in the back yard before going inside, according to police.

Both the boys were educated on the Troy ordinance that prohibits the firing of pellet guns within city limits.
