Troy School District Cancels Classes With Fun Twitter Video

With up to eleven inches of snow expected, Troy School District announced Friday's closing Thursday evening.

With a winter storm on the way and meteorologists predicting snowfall of 9 to 11 inches across the area, nearly every school in Metro Detroit and still more in Washtenaw and Macomb counties announced Thursday that Friday classes would be canceled. By midnight, Click on Detroit’s school closings page listed over 700 area schools that had announced weather-related closures for Friday. With so much snow predicted for the morning, the Troy School District joined this large group of schools and announced the cancellation of its Friday classes.

While a scroll on the school’s homepage made the announcement in average fashion, the district’s Twitter feed contained the cancelation in music video form. For parents wondering what Monday will bring, the Troy School District website will carry any announcements, but if you want to see the “fun” version, check out the district’s Twitter feed.
