U-Haul Driving Suspects Nabbed By Troy Police

A couple was recently charged with retail fraud from a Troy Macy's and tried to get away driving a U-Haul Rental Truck, police said.

TROY, MI — Troy Police arrested a couple after they allegedly stole more than $400 worth of merchandise from Macy’s Department Store on Oct. 28. Officers were called to the W. 14 Mile Road store shortly before 9 p.m. and discovered that an Eastpointe man and woman from Nebraska had fled the scene in a U-Haul Rental Truck, according to police reports.

Royal Oak Police spotted the truck, a white 2013 GMC TG33, at 10 Mile Road west of Dequindre Road and stopped it. Troy officers arrived on scene a short time later and arrested a 23-year-old Eastpointe man and a 22-year-old woman from Lincoln, Neb., reports said.

Police recovered $408.93 worth of allegedly stolen items from Macy’s, reports said. The Eastepointe man was charged with Retail Fraud – 2nd Degree and Driving While License Suspended. The Nebraska woman was charged with Retail Fraud – 3rd Degree.
