Week in Review: Recall Update; Romney in Troy; Readers' Choice Returns

• Recall: . Troy Mayor Janice Daniels faces a recall election in November if 7,985 or more signatures are verified.
• Opinion: "When the results come back in November and you (Janice Daniels) are still here, it will be interesting to see how many of these malcontents will continue to berate, harass and bully you," writes Troy resident Nicholas Cherasaro. "To retain her tells all that we, the citizens of Troy, endorse her bigotry, prejudices and leadership," writes Troy resident Irv Wengrow.

• Local Government: . The new "smart" meters wirelessly transmit usage information to the utility company.
• Courts: . Troy 18-year-old Sean Combs faces a jury pre-trial set for July 9 in front of 48th District Court's Marc Barron.
• Patch Drives: . You can, indeed, relate a fear of getting older and a love for '80s hair bands to shopping for minivans.
• Construction: . Construction will begin in the next few weeks and continue throughout most of the summer.
• Athlete of the Season: . Vote from a list of deserving candidates and help determine who should be named the Patch Athlete of the Season from Troy area high schools.
