A recap of the past week's top headlines in Troy.

A lot happened last week, and we want to make sure you didn't miss a thing. Here are some of the highlights:
- Readers' Choice: We want you to tell us the best people, places and businesses in Troy.
- Recall: . Troy Mayor Janice Daniels faces a recall election in November if 7,985 or more signatures are verified.
- Opinion: "When the results come back in November and you (Janice Daniels) are still here, it will be interesting to see how many of these malcontents will continue to berate, harass and bully you," writes Troy resident Nicholas Cherasaro. "To retain her tells all that we, the citizens of Troy, endorse her bigotry, prejudices and leadership," writes Troy resident Irv Wengrow.
- Romney in Troy: . The presidential candidate is in town for a private event hosted by Gov. Rick Snyder on Wednesday night. . Wednesday was the Republican presidential candidate's biggest single day of fundraising to date.
- Local Government: . The new "smart" meters wirelessly transmit usage information to the utility company.
- Courts: . Troy 18-year-old Sean Combs faces a jury pre-trial set for July 9 in front of 48th District Court's Marc Barron.
- Patch Drives: . You can, indeed, relate a fear of getting older and a love for '80s hair bands to shopping for minivans.
- Construction: . Construction will begin in the next few weeks and continue throughout most of the summer.
- Athlete of the Season: . Vote from a list of deserving candidates and help determine who should be named the Patch Athlete of the Season from Troy area high schools.
