What Should Move into the Vacant Caribou Coffee Space?
Let's come up with a good use for this vacancy at Rochester Road and others around Troy and Clawson.
Recently, Caribou Coffee announced the company is closing a string of 168 stores across the country. For many in the Troy and Clawson area, their favorite coffee shop is gone. For the area itself, more business is gone.
The decision relates to a corporate acquisition of Caribou by Joh. A. Benckiser Group (JAB) in December 2012. The same company also acquired another large coffee company, Peet's Coffee and Tea Inc., which happened in October 2012.
What should go into the Troy location at 3495 Rochester Rd.? If you're a former Caribou customer, would you go to a Peet's at that location? Should another business go in its place? Perhaps someone reading has been inspired to start their own coffee shop.
