Man, 62, Drowns In Oakland County Lake: Sheriff

A man has died after drowning in an Oakland County lake over the weekend, according to the sheriff's office.

The incident happened at 6 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Lake in West Bloomfield Township, officials said.

WEST BLOOMFIELD, MI — A man has died after drowning in an Oakland County lake over the weekend, according to the sheriff's office.

The incident happened at 6 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Lake in West Bloomfield Township, officials said.

Officials said bystanders pulled 62-year-old Steven J. Sweeney, of West Bloomfield, from the lake after they found him floating face down and unresponsive. Officials said he was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident.

He was taken to Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital where he died, officials said.

Officials were planning to conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
