Oakland County Lottery Club Wins $2M On Powerball Ticket

The club said the prize is "comforting and unbelievable."​

WEST BLOOMFIELD, MI — A West Bloomfield lottery club won $2 million on a Powerball ticket, according to lottery officials.

The FDL lottery club matched the five white balls (03-16-29-61-69) in the Sept. 3 drawing to win a $1 million prize, lottery officials said.

Thanks to the Power Play, the prize was multiplied to $2 million.

The club bought the winning ticket at the Sunkiss Market, located at 13535 Puritan Street in Detroit, lottery officials said.

The club's representative and spokesperson Sheldon Larky told lottery officials they decided to buy several Powerball tickets because the jackpot was over $1 billion.

"They were checking their tickets after the drawing and didn’t believe it when they realized one was a $2 million winner," Larky said. "They scanned the ticket on the Michigan Lottery app to double check it and make sure it was real."

The club said the prize is "comforting and unbelievable."
