How Can I Help With the Wyandotte Community Garden?

Here's a list of five ways to get involved with the Wyandotte Community Garden.

The Wyandotte Beautification Commission is seeking volunteers to help maintain the Wyandotte Community Garden located on Oak Street between First and Second streets.

Much of the day-to-day responsibilities of maintaining the garden fall on those who've agreed to rent a plot, but the commission still needs volunteers for several purposes.

Here's a list of five ways to get involved with the Wyandotte Community Garden:

  1. Volunteers are needed to weed, prune and clean up the garden.
  2. Scheduled works days are open to the community and offer volunteers a chance to get involved. There are upcoming work days on Aug. 17, Sept. 21, Oct. 19 and Nov. 9.
  3. Volunteers should meet at the garden at 9 a.m. on scheduled work days.
  4. Volunteers should bring trowels, shovels, kneelers and gloves.
  5. Community garden parking is located at the parking lot on Oak and First streets.
The deadline to rent a free plot at the community garden was June 1.
