1 AV School Removed, 3 Added To MDH COVID-19 Outbreak List

There are currently seven Apple Valley schools on the list.

APPLE VALLEY/ROSEMOUNT, MN — Seven schools from Apple Valley are on this week's list of school's that have had recent outbreaks of COVID-19, as reported by the Minnesota Department of Health.

One school was removed from the list this week, while three were added.

MDH also recently added data showing the range of COVID-19 cases in each school per week.

  • Cedar Park Elementary School
    • Reported between 5-9 cases between Sept. 19-Oct. 2 and between 5-9 cases between Oct. 31-Nov. 13.
  • Highland Elementary School
    • Reported between 5-9 cases between Sept. 19-Oct. 2. The school remains on the list and MDH said it will release more information when it is available.
  • Diamond Path Elementary School of International Studies
    • Reported between 5-9 cases between Oct. 17-Oct. 30. The school remains on the list and MDH said it will release more information when it is available.
  • Southview Elementary School
    • Reported between 5-9 cases between Oct. 17-30. The school remains on the list and MDH said it will release more information when it is available.
  • Scott Highlands Middle School
    • Reported between 5-9 cases between Sept. 19-Oct. 2. The school remains on the list and MDH said it will release more information when it is available.
  • Valley Middle
    • Reported 5-9 cases between Sept. 19-Oct. 2, 10-19 cases Oct. 3-16 and 5-9 cases Oct. 17-30. The school remains on the list and MDH said it will release more information when it is available.
  • Dakota Ridge School
    • Reported between 5-9 cases between Oct. 3-16. The school remains on the list and MDH said it will release more information when it is available.

Apple Valley Senior High School has been removed since last week. The most recent additions to the list are Dakota Ridge School, Diamond Patch Elementary School and Southview Elementary School.

The list is updated every Thursday.

A school has an outbreak when it reports five or more confirmed cases of the virus in students or staff who were in the building while infectious during the most recent two-week reporting period.

"School buildings listed may not have ongoing transmission," MDH noted. "School buildings that have not reported a new case for 28 days will be removed. If five or more cases are reported in a school building in a subsequent 2-week period, they will once again be listed."
