• Foundation pays mortgage of fallen Burnsville firefighter (startribune.com) — A national nonprofit has paid off the mortgage for the family of fallen Burnsville firefighter and paramedic Adam Finseth, easing a major financial burden after his death in the line of duty in February 2024. Finseth, who joined the Burnsville Fire Department in 2019 and later served on the SWAT team, is survived by his wife and two young children. 
• Tonka boys hit scoring slump in 2 nonconference defeats (hometownsource.com) — Burnsville gets a brief mention here as the team Minnetonka beat earlier, before the Skippers’ offense went cold in two nonconference home losses to Prior Lake and Eagan. Minnetonka’s young roster, led by senior guard Anthony Ortiz, is rebuilding after past success and now prepares for a road test at Brainerd and the Shakopee Invitational over the holidays.
