Edina, Minn., May 27, 2020 – Following the news of the Minnesota State Fair cancelation, the Edina Crime Prevention Fund has decided to cancel the 2020 Edina Fall Into The Arts Festival, typically held in September.

“It wasn’t an easy decision,” said Edina Crime Prevention Fund President Pacy Erck. “Our No. 1 priority is the health and safety of festival goers and after much discussion we couldn’t figure out a way to hold the Festival without compromising those two things.”

Erck, who said she’s saddened about the Festival being canceled, said while it was a tough decision that it’s for the best.

“We’ll come back next year with a reenergized excitement and hope the same goes for our artists and visitors,” she said.

The Edina Fall Into the Arts Festival is the largest fundraiser for the Edina Crime Prevention Fund, a non-profit dedicated to keeping Edina safe. A portion of the proceeds also go to the Edina Art Center and Centennial Lakes Park, where the Festival is held.

More than 225 artists and exhibitors, food vendors and sponsors show and sell their work at the lake-font Festival each year. Artist mediums include photography, jewelry, pottery, sculpture, wearable arts, glass, fiber arts, wood and painting.

The Festival typically draws 30,000 attendees each fall.
